Love in the library. (300-word Daily Flash Fiction Challenge entry 2/12)
With an impish grin, Rowan dragged her boyfriend up the library stairwell toward the higher floors.

"Where are we going?"

She offered no explanation as they emerged on the top floor of the library, making their way to the Thesis Room in the southwest corner of the building. Kyle followed as she deftly weaved between the stacks, maneuvering over to a quiet, dark aisle of a room on an already quiet, dark floor.

Then she spun around and kissed him.

He was surprised at first, feeling Rowan's soft lips touch his for the first time. He responded and she wrapped her arms around his neck, pulling her body closer to his. Electricity coursed through his veins as they touched.

After what seemed like an eternity, they broke apart and stared at one another. Her cheeks were flushed, her breathing exhilarated. She searched his eyes... almost scared as she nervously waited for him to say something.

"Wow," was all he could muster, immediately chastising himself for not thinking of a more debonair response to their first shared intimacy.

"What made you want to... now?" He asked her.

Her skin flushed even more as self-conscious embarrassment began to spread.

Oh God, she had been too forward...

"No, no," He reassured, reacting as she averted her gaze. "I liked it."

Rowan looked up at him again, elation reflected in her soft, bright blue eyes.

"So what now?" He asked.

She said nothing as she wrapped her arms around him again, leaning in for another kiss.

He scooped her up in his arms, and they connected again, even more passionately this time.

The grad student watching them through the stacks shook his head and smiled as he turned back to his thesis research.
