An angel is banished from heaven to earth.
It majorly sucked being labeled as a fallen Angel. Angel felt that she didn't do anything to warrant being cast out of heaven. Everywhere she went in heaven all the other angels weren't even allowed to look in her direction. She had an appointment with the COH. COH was short for Commerce of Heaven. Pretty straightforward, they basically are the committee that deals with Fallen Ones. Even framed Fallen Ones, she thought glumly. The building for the COH was pure white, rimmed in gold, with "Commerce of Heaven" outlined in gold. If a person was rendered guilty they were given instructions then banished to earth to live out as a human, and hopefully learn a few lessons. Angel took a deep breath. She really, really didn't want to go to earth. She heard that it was painful and human life wasn't fun and games. Not that being an Angel was fun and games...there were responsibilities, such as client guarding, muses, and paper work. Client guarding was when a particular client was under an attack from a demon from hell, and those angels who were labeled 'Protectors' would go and guard that particular client. Muses, were special angels who served a clients creative side for however long it was needed. Such as Einstein, Mozart, and Picasso to name a few. Paperwork was always done after such jobs were completed and computed into Heaven's data network. To not do so was against policy, and convicted angels were disciplined and in worse cases, terminated. Heaven was a busy place, but it wasn't painful, and you didn't want for anything. Inside the COH, it smelled like a faint trace of lavender, and it was lilac colored. The receptionist looked at her when she walked in.

"Hi, my name is Angel Rowen, and I have an appointment with Gabriel Sand."

"Ah, yes. He's expecting you. You  may go through those doors, take a left down the hall." The doors was made of oak and smooth to the touch. She had a really bad feeling about this. At the end of her journey to Gabriel's' office, she knocked softly on the door.
"Come in Angel." She had known Gabriel ever since she was first created. He was always nice to her. That thought didn't convince her that everything was going to be alright.

"Hello, Gabriel." It was all she could do not to break down in tears walking to the chair in front of his desk to sit.

"I'm going to get right down to business. The charges against you aren't very disproving. I've looked over your files, and the whole case, and I'm really not sure how to prove you innocent. I know its not what you wanted to hear, but I'd rather be honest and up front with you about the matter." Those words just made her want to weep.

"The charge of not reporting on your client property not one, but on several different occasions has severely counted against you as your job as an Angel. I know you've noticed no one speaking to you?"

She nodded.

"That's because its forbidden. The act of disobeying your duties and getting thrown out of heaven is Blasphemy. Any Angel associating with you could get punished as well. It's something they want to avoid. However--I may not be able to prove your innocence, but I know you can clear your good name by accepting a job on earth."

"No, absolutely not! Do you know what a horrible place that is? Haven't you heard the stories? It's not like Heaven at all. Besides, I filled those reports out like I was suppose to. I don't know why they weren't in the data base. Someone had to have erased them. Why else wouldn't they be there?"

"I'm sorry Angel. Truly I am, but there is no other way around this. I've looked. My advice is to take this. I know you feel its unfair, and that you haven't did anything to deserve this punishment. Look at it this way, there is a man on earth that needs you. You like helping humans, I know you do. This case is a little different but never mind that. His name is Nick Cortez, and he's a Vampire."

"What?!? He's damned. How am I suppose to help him? I'm an Angel. Angels aren't suppose to be in the presence of damned beings. It's in the Angel Code of Conduct." She was upset and in the beginning of an emotional breakdown. Angel's can have breakdowns after all, she thought.

"Yes, yes I know Angel, but when I send you to earth you won't be an Angel anymore. Remember, you lost your wings."
When he put it that way, she realized that there really wasn't a thing she could do right now. Nothing except accept the consequences, no matter how undeserving they are.

"What do I have to do?" She asked finally.
Gabriel seemed a little taken aback as she finally seemed to comply with what he was trying to tell her.

"Nick Cortez is on the path of destruction. If he doesn't find his soul mate he will become a complete soulless killing machine." He paused for effect.

"He's already soulless isn't he?" she asked.

"Not completely. Well, yes he is but when and if he finds his soul mate she will complete him. She will be his soul redeemer. You find his soul mate and you save him and his soul."

"That can't be too hard. Oh. One problem though."

"What's that?" He looked at her like he was getting irritated with her.

"Once I'm not an Angel I'll be human and Vampires are immortal. It could take longer than seventy years to find her."

"No, that won't be a problem. You see, even though you won't be an Angel anymore, you'll live immortally as long as it takes to find his soul mate. Then when you find her, you'll age like a human."

"You mean I won't get to come back to Heaven when I'm through? Whats the point of doing this job then?"

He smiled at her with a touch of sadness. "You don't do this job, you become human sooner. When your life of a human is over, thats it, no chance of redemption, you go to hell. This is your one and only chance."

"What!?! thats so unfair. What happened to free will?" Angel stood up, anger, and frustration causing her to grip his desk tightly.

"As they say on earth..'Life is unfair'. Here are the rules. Do NOT tell anyone you're a Fallen One. Not even Nick. I doubt he could pick up on your ex-angel status, and humans will just look at you like your crazy or lock you up in a padded room. No can do. You have a job to do. Do NOT let yourself be known to demons. They will try to tempt you. If they find out your fallen. Try to fit in. If you accept this job, sign here."

A piece of paper suddenly appeared along with an ink pen. Do I do this or what? she thought to herself. Is this worth clearing my name? Maybe Gabriel is right. Maybe this will redeem me. Her hand wavered a bit before she wrote her name on the dotted line.
