The title says it all
My topic is why gays, lesbians, and bisexuals should be able to marry. But before I can shed light to my views we have to understand some of the smaller problems revolved around people of different orientation. Everyday gays, lesbians, and bisexuals are looked down upon in society, but why are they really looked down upon? Is it because their lifestyle is wrong, is it because people fear that type of orientation that type of lifestyle? No granted some people might fear that lifestyle and only in people’s minds does it seem wrong, but why is that, what causes people to shun out differences in society? Just like the fear of the dark people fear the unknown. There is something else that causes people to reject differences so lets look back who teaches the children to walk and to talk. Parents, and they are the ones who tell you right from wrong and for the most part they are the ones that most likely told you that love has to be between a man and a women. But thats not true. By letting their views and decisions about life and love become a rule in your mind you end up creating a psychological barrier that controls you not allowing you make those choices for yourself. With that said what is love? It’s a physical, mental, and emotional attraction to another body that brings the owners body happiness. Thats how all sexes fell when they go out weather it be heteros, gays, lesbians, or bisexuals.
Now that we found the cause what can we do to fix that part. First we have to make that decision to change that part of our minds to take down that psychological barrier in our minds and learn to start making choices for our selves. By making choices by ourselves that is how we become true individuals.
Then why do we still make a big deal about their lifestyles its not like it interferes with us. If someone who is gay, lesbian, or bisexual starts hitting on you and you just let them know if your straight then they normally back off. So why would what they do bother heteros its not like they’re asking that they be accepting no all they ask for is tolerance. That they don’t get harassed about their orientation and that they get the same rights. They’re people still they bleed, they cry, and they care just like all humans do they’re no different from you or me but with a different view on life.
Now that the problems are brought to context I can give you my thoughts on marriage. Sorry didn’t want to bring up religions but for this topic I kinda have to so bare with me. What is marriage? Most people say that it’s a connection between a man and a women under god. All right if thats so but what does that connection mean when you get to heaven or where ever you go when you die? It means absolutely nothing. Marriage is just an acnolagement of two people making a commitment to one another in a community. Its really just a label for society. So why not let them get married too. Let them make that commitment to one another. They love as we love so what’s the difference if its between heteros, gays, lesbians, or bies. Now days aproximently one in every twenty-three people is of a different orientation other then straight. Most of you will never know how big of a deal this is to them until you have a child that you love and care for because if they come to you and tell you that they’re gay, lesbian, or bi your views will switch because you want to see them happy. One of the best examples of this is the governor of New York who has a lesbian daughter and when you do you want them to be happy no matter what your old views were.
Before the end here I wanted to say a quote that was and is being past through the generations. The first time I heard this saying was from my friends mom about this topic. The quote is “to each his own.” Simply meaning that you do what you want and I’ll  do as I want and it wont bother me.
