Swimming in Denial

I'm going to dive in to denial,
And swim my way to shore.
Yell into the receiver,
"I don't love you anymore!"

Strip my expectations,
And throw them on the ground.
Tuck them away,
So they cannot be found.

I'll blow the dust off the mask,
With the fake little grin.
In the task of persuasion,
This will help me win.

Your my dirty little secret,
Of anger and distress.
But I'll dive in to denial,
And forget all of the rest.
