I am neither the light from the east
Nor the darkness from the west
Rather I am the encroachment and the retraction
I am neither the snow storm blinding white
Nor the fire raging through the forest
Rather I am a single ember dancing on a cold winter sky
'Tis in the darkness of time
The spirit of song
The wellness of the sick that I am found
Lending peace and comfort
Spreading heartache and pain
Wandering the wind shaped plains
Haunting the weather worn peaks of humanity
I am in fact humanity
I am its darkness, its light
Everything between
I am not the lamb or the wolf
I am the lamb dressed as the wolf
The wolf dressed as the lamb
I am the union of good and evil
The burden of evil escaping from good
These things I will be and have always been
This is not who I wish to be
I wish to be free from the pain of want and pride
Free to trust wholly in one greater than myself
Free to be greater than myself
I am nothing and everything
Everything and nothing
I am the lost searching for the found
The found going back to look for the lost
A contradiction of what is and what was and what will be
I am the saint's sinner
The sinner's saint
The man's man
God's child
Remember me not for who I was
Rather for whom I have became
