A BEAUTIFUL REFLECTION ON LIFE, WITH A CHARMING VIEW OF WHAT A SOUL MIGHT BE.
POEMS THAT NOURISH THE SOUL

WHY ARE WE HERE?

Of all the stories I’ve heard
of those I most admired
I think of all those passed,
who helped make the life I live,
and realize, for a time,
how small,
and insignificant we are,
when we look at just ourselves.

And when I view the whole of it,
I wonder if
they lived their life,
just to provide
the life we live?

If that be the truth of it,
then our lives are only worth
what it is we leave behind,
from how we lived our life.

So when I review
Why am I here?

I wonder if
I’m simply here
to be a part of you,
and while alive,
you a part of me.

It would be as if
we were all one,
where each of us
were touched by us,
and those that came before.

As they’ve gone before us,
so shall we,
but perhaps I,
like you,
will leave a piece behind.

And if that be true,
then that’s the piece
that will be the entirety of

Why I am here,
and what I was meant to be.

WHAT IS A ‘SOUL’?

Let’s assume souls are as ethereal
as we already believe,
and let’s pretend
that pieces of any soul
we most admired
become attached to our soul
on the day they departed.

How nice to think
that when she died
my mother stayed
right here, in my soul
and at my side.

Since belief is required
to become so inspired
then why not believe
what never leaves,
is what we most admired?

It seems to me so easy to believe
that instead of going to heaven
those I loved will leave with  me
what I loved best about them.

And I shall do the same,
as I choose to believe,
those so passed
have done for me.

PASSING OUR SOULS ON

For those I touched
remember the promise I made.
Body gone, the soul stays,
not a piece will rise or fade.

One piece is  yours to keep
for adding to  your soul,
adding to the greatness

of who you are
and who you shall become.

My only wish is to do your best
helping others carry on
and promise me you’ll do the same
and pass your soul on.
