A short poem exploring how the innocence of my life has gradually been lost through time.
The castle sat upon the sand,
Once crafted by artistic hand,
With turrets of most gleaming bronze,
Where MP3 played chapel songs.
The mote did cut into the dunes,
To stop onslaughts inflicting wounds,
And plastic Hector sat on walls tall,
To stop Achilles bringing their fall.

But plastic Achilles was lost in the waves,
And Hector brave fell from his walls,
As creator did stray home that day,
Before storm made tumultuous fall.

And castle left alone on sand,
Did hear the attacking band,
As waves did crash upon the shore,
And sand was lifted off the floor.
The castle did thus sees its fate,
For creator had not closed its gate,
And waves rushed in and filled the mote,
And soon the grounds were all afloat.

And castle watched as grain by grain,
Creator let creation fall away,
And gradually life did drain,
Into time’s torrid drowning day.
