When a relationship hits a snag..
I've reread your words a thousand times
To reassure myself I'm still on your mind
I'm trying not to lose it; I'm trying not to cry
I'm just too scared that'll lose what I call mine
So Ill sit back and wait till things get back on track
It's hard but I'm trying not to over react.
I get that it's a simple fact; that everyone has a past
It's just hard to handle when it comes running back
I can't tell you what to do or even what to say
I just don't like that it's getting in our way
Don't whisper words unless they are real
Its not fun to mess with how someone feels
Though we've hit this bump, my feelings won't change
I hope when we get over it, you can say the same.
Ill give you time, space, whatever it is you need
I just don't want you to forget about me.
I hope the words you say to me isn't what you tell her
The hurt would be too painful for that I am sure
I have the key to the apartment; you have the key to my heart
You trust me not to rob you, I trust you not to tear me apart.
I can't change your mind and I can't change how you feel
I'm not naive I know happily ever after is unreal
I also know that I've never met someone quite like you
Whose made me fall so fast, feel as crazy as I do
A bridge has been broken, though I hope it can mend
One speed bump doesn't necessarily have to be the end.
My emotions keep going back to a roller coaster ride
As much as I want to I can't make them hide
I'll stay close to your heart as long as you will let me
Only time can tell what everything can really be.
