We tend to be nicer to people that are strangers and yet mean to our loved ones,
Whence my soul breathed you here
I held thou to my heart so dear
Time goes past you and me
Smile not frown, cruel not be

Thou shan¹t be mean or quick whence come
To someone whose love wilt never be gone
Why to a stranger thou bend down low
When they shalt never love you so

Sing, smile and adore each now
For tomorrow may take us away somehow
I love thee with all my soul
Thou art my reason in life I know
