Inspired by my love of a man; the Moon and the Sun
This morning I woke, early, before dawn
Echoes of his voice stole my slumber away
My room was as bright as if the lights were on
My sleep-heavy eyes to the window did stray.

My sight was drawn first to the Westward sky
In awe, I believed it to be an incredible dream
There, in full glory and riding on high
Mother Moon cast down her love on infinite beams.

And almost simultaneously, there in the East
With ribbons of golden passion and carnelian lust
Father Sun had risen and joined in the feast
The silence was deafening; even the birds stood hushed.

I watched the age-old dance; transfixed, at once born anew
The yearning in me drove me down upon my knees
Mother, the Seductress, bathed in opalescent blue
Father, the Light Bringer, absolutely burning to please.

La Bella Luna!  Mother!  Bring to me my precious heart!
Sole, l’Amante!  Father!  Fill him with your everlasting fire!
Instruct me in the dance so that we may never again part
Bestow upon my beloved this majickal desire!
