Uncle Danny

He was my Uncle Danny,
Always there when needed,
Ready to kick my fanny,
Giving warning, thou never heeded,

He always told me "Do your best",
Never give up heart,
Sometimes he even called me a pest,
But we'll never really be apart.

He is not really gone,
He is now at rest,
He awoke in a new dawn,
So he could be at his best.

Gone but not forgotten,
Grieving and heart broken,
I think this is rotten,
But the Lord has spoken.

This is really bad,
Now I feel lost and alone,
It really makes me feel sad,
But the Lord did call him home.
