Something I wrote at the loss of someone very dear
I felt her wings fluttering,

As I touched her pristine soul,

I saw her look at me,

With eyes that you just know

Were your own, though…..

I moved my hand on her body

And I looked at the clear blue sky

I heard her being all quiet

And move her head in a cry

And I looked in those eyes again

As they saw me through my soul

And I shivered, I shuddered in agony

‘cos I knew she had to go

I kissed her on her forehead,

And I kissed her last good bye

And in my very own hands,

I held her body lie,

And I look for one last time at her

As she clinched her limbs on my fingers

Saying a million words I couldn’t gather

But still sounding so clear

And I looked away

With every ounce of strength

And I pushed her away one final time

With very little that I could say

And she sensed my hapless whim

And she dug her head in my chest

And then with a sudden burst of strength

She just flew away……

I kept on looking, searching

Into the distant sky

To see, to hear the faintest,

Of her dying cries

But none were coming,

None would come,

For to go was her greatest dream

And how much I wish she stayed along

But it would still be just a whim

She belongs to the skies

And I am dear to the ground,

She has her wings to soar up

And I am chained to the ground

He who made me,

Made her too

And gave her wings to fly

He who made her,

Made me too,

And gave me a heart to cry…….
