This is a poem about a young man who quickly discovers his split personality is in control |
Outsmarted How does it feel to be outsmarted You can't comprehend what it is I've started You think I'm making you mad, driving you insane Okay, whose mind has locked up anger it can no longer contain Stop pretending...you can't beat me No matter how much you try, you can't defeat me Don't you get it...we're one and the same You want to hide from the things you feel, fine, but I'm sick of playing games It's time to unleash the beast within you Let go of the pain you've locked within you Don't let these people tell you what to do Wake up and start living for you Where were they when you were in the dumps, barely alive Those same people you prayed would give you the strength to survive Where were they all the times you cried And now you think you can stop me by ending your life Maybe they don't realize what they're doing but they'll come around Now will you please just calm down Calm down? Every single one of them has it coming so turn me loose What are you going to do? Exactly what is it that you have to prove That nobody messes with me Why is that so complicated for you to see Get out of my head...I'm sick of you You can't get rid of me...what part of that isn't sinking through I'm the real you The one who knows what you really want to do So stop wasting time and let me out Take on the world...scream and shout You think they'll ever show you love when all they know is doubt It's time to show them what the real you is all about I won't let you do this so knock it off Try to stop me for I only get stronger when you tick me off I'm tired of you being pushed around I can feel it to when you get beat to the ground Stop fighting the anger for I can feel your heart begin to pound You'll eventually come around Soon the only sound you hear Will be my voice screaming in your ear You can't stop it...it's already started So tell me again, how does it feel to be outsmarted |
