This a story of how I received my only brother.

A Prayer Answered Big

Have you ever wanted something so much that the only way that it seems possible is through an act of God?  Well this is a story of a little girl who wanted what seemed to be impossible, and she is about to show us that nothing is impossible through God.
Matilda was the oldest of three girls, and she always thought that being the oldest and a girl was a hard life. He dad was a rough man who was very strict and her mom was the comforter.  Matilda felt that she had to take of her sisters who were 2 and 4 years younger than she was.  She tried to not tell on sisters and keep them from getting punished.  She also felt that she had no one to understand.
The doctors told Matilda’s mother that the girls would be the only children in the family, and this saddened Matilda because she felt incomplete without a brother.  So When Matilda was nine, she prayed every night for a brother.  She knew what the doctor said but she knew that God was bigger.
It was hard to believe the doctors and know that God can make thing happened.  So she placed a bassinet in the bed with her and prayed to God so that (if no other way) she could wake up with her baby brother in the bassinet from God’s own hand.
Yes, it was good to help her mom and play with her sisters, but something was missing.  No it was someone that was missing.  So everyday, Matilda had prayer with her sisters to have a brother.  Then went about their day dreaming about what it would be like to have a hyper little boy running around picking on them.
Years later, Matilda was then 12 years old, her mother started to get sick.  She got dizzy and weak. So her mother went to the doctor.  When she came into the house, she looked different.  Happy and glowing. “Mom, you are going to have a baby.” Matilda said.
It was true.  Matilda would be a big sister again.  Dreams would come true.  Well times came hard, and Matilda’s mother got more sick waiting on the baby to come.  The doctors didn’t think that her Mom or baby would live.  But as time went on, it was time.
After walking up the dirt road to her grandmother’s house, Matilda noticed a different feeling in the air.  Her mom, dad, or grandmother could not be found.
Then the phone rang.. It was her dad.  “Matilda,” he said.  You r mom had the baby. She listened to the details.  The length, weight, color of hair, skin, but then he said,  “ you have a sister”.  That couldn’t be right.  The doctor said that her family would never have another child, and God made this happen.  It would not make since to have a girl after all the praying.  “it was a boy, Dad.”  Matilda said trying to hold on to her faith.  Her dad kept arguing the fact until he finally said, “Her name is Stephen Matthew.”
At that she dropped the phone, started crying, shouting, and ran from house on the dirt road telling everyone that God gave her a baby brother.
Her love for her brother got her through the teenage blues.  Every time she was sad, she would hold the always smiling brown eyed baby brother.  She played and spoiled him until the day she got married.  He was 7 and cried to loose her.
Now Matilda has her own children.  She used the same faith to have them because it was supposed to be impossible for her to have a family.  But she remembered how God gave her a brother and he gave her children.
I know that this is a true story.  This is how good God has been to me.  He has given me a wonderful brother (not a baby now 26) and three healthy children.
I will tell you that God hears a child’s prayers no matter how impossible they may seem .  So little one’s keep talking to God and he will give you all your needs.
