A short poem about the dangers of giving way to temptation.
Nyx calls to me with her sweet song
Tempting me out before the dawn
Begging me taste her delicious sins
Whispering to me "forsake all kin"
"Come to me, come to me" she sighs
And I will give you all you desire
I have never felt a pull so strong
I fear I must go to her beautiful song
I venture out into the night
Ready for anything but what is in my sight
It is no woman standing before me
but a terrible demon with teeth white and gleaming
"So you come at last" hisses the snake
"You have made a very fatal mistake"
"No,no I cry to the demoness"
"All I expected was a kiss"
"But a kiss, but a kiss" she croons "I shall grant you your final request"
"You shall have your kiss, a kiss of death"
With that she leaps toward
catlike claws stretched forward
She plants a kiss upon my lips
And I must describe it as utter bliss
Clutching my damned soul in her crooked claws
She races to her home of night, and I see my final dawn.
