Pathways of Life

All we want is to feel alive

So all our life we work hard and thrive

On material things in this world

Till the coldness in our blood runs deep and is curled

Holding tight to our inner thoughts and desires

And all things once seen by a child and adults admired

Our view of the world and people in it change

And once we realize this we feel very strange

For we don't know each other or even who we are

The simple things we thought we knew from our minds is far

Some use this to our advantage, gaining knowledge and wisdom

Acquiring in our lives the needed security and freedom

Others hear and feel the thunder and rain rise in their heart

As their whole life and world has slowly fallen apart

They know not their life meaning or self worth

And some wish in this life they would have never came to birth

People say that there is a plan or path to take

I, each their own decisions, paths they have to make
