The Elephant Man

Are you or anyone you know over weight, so strange looking that even the doctors and
nurces run away from you? DO you have small eyes and skin the color of a tangerine? Have you
never been inside a real home before? Have you never shook a womens hand before or never managed
to have friends ?If so you may be known as the "Elephant Man".

John also known as the Elephant Man was deformed when he was just a small
boy leaving him with small eyes and skin the color of a tangerine. All this happened
as a result of his mom getting run down by an elephant when she was pregnet with John.
Because of his strange appearance it stopped him from being able to do things he
wanted to do. He never shook a womens hand before, and never managed to have any friends.

Dr.Treve, a doctor discovered John and tried to help him as much as he could.He wanted John
to feel comfortable being with people. He wanted John to shake a womens hand and to have
friends. He asked nurses he knows to not run away nor get scared of how John, The Elephant
Man looked like. Instead, he told his nurses to try having a real conversation with him.
The Elephant Man is a really nice man with a kind heart who wants to be like everyone
else. He wants to someday shake a womens hand and to have friends.

Nurses and alot of people run far away when they see how ugly the Elephant Man looks
like. Nobody has ever seen anyone so ugly and strange looking as the Elephant Man. Dr.Treve
explained that he has a rare disease that only 1 in 5,000 people suffer from. He tells his
nurses that the Elephant Man is a very kind man and has to be treated good.

The set design had different pictures of elephants and words that read ELEPHANT MAN to
explain that this play is mainly about the elephant man. All caracters wore different
costumes. The doctor, Dr.Treve looked like a real doctor wearing a black suit. The
nurces wore blue dresses and the Elephant Man wore a white shirt with white shorts.
All the caracters wore wearing different clothes to represent different caracters.

After every scene or when an important caracter came up on stage the lights would go on
and when the main characters left the stage the lights would go of. The Elephant Man is a very
powerful play that deals with John, The Elephant Man.
