Up on the wall, to the left of my head
That constant
That irritant
Annoying tick
Tick-tock
Tick-tock

Oh, how I long for that clock to stop
I can’t wait for that clock to stop
For time to stop
Or last longer

For, if seconds were longer
Ticks would seem shorter
And annoy me less

I look down at the page
The blank page
Try to conjure words into my head
But to no avail

I look up
Stare accusingly
And will that clock to stop
Will time to last longer

After all, I could do with a bit more time
I could do with a lot more time
I need more time

Then again, I want this to be over
