On a stunningly brilliant afternoon this summer, the kind that you half feel guilty for wearing sunglasses because you might miss some of the beauty, my boyfriend was coaching a youth baseball league. He and his team had showed up early to practice before the game. Since I had ridden with him to the ballpark, I was left to my own devices to entertain myself while they practiced. There is a fleet and farm store right across from the ballpark, and while its not exactly shopping at Sak's, I thought I would be able to kill some time there while I waited for the game to start. Summer was in bloom and there was a garden center in the parking lot of the store. I browsed through there, and though much appealed to me, I just wasn't in the mood for garden supplies that day. I should explain that I am not a shopper. I usually don't get into the idea of looking just to look. I go in, get what I need and get out. I hate crowds with a white hot heat, and this day was an anamoly. I must have been REALLY bored watching 10 year old's practice catching fly balls, in order to want to go into a store.
