Rev, a vampyre, see's his last sun rise.
It was a cold night, Rev inhaled the crisp November air. City lights painted the other wise dark waters of Boston harbor a shades of blue and yellow. He had left the music and the dance of the party a few minutes ago, and was taking a short walk back to his apartment. Lighting a cigarette, looking on the harbor, he saw the the barges rock in the seeming calm water, and the bridges illuminating the path for late-night commuters.
Rev stopped for a second, and contemplated his life. Rev, you see, was a vampyre. It meant he could never see the light of day. He wondered what this might look like in the light. Blue sky's, white clouds. He had seen pictures, but, nothing more. A single tear dropped down Revs face.
He took a long drag on that cigarette, and tried to forget about what he would always miss. He walked along along side the water. It was a short walk home, witch was good, Rev never wanted to be alone long with hist own mind.

He unlocked his apartment, and opened the poorly painted door. The floor was dirty, and the TV was fixed with duct tape. Papers and clothing seemed to hang over every surface. He turned on the Television to see an infomercial advertising an escape to a tropical paradise. Rev didn't need an escape. All he needed was to see it. All he needed was to know what he had missed all these years.
Rev changed the channel, and lite another cigarette. A nasty habit for any mortal, smoking. But, he didn't care. He walked into his room, the TV still murmuring its message to an empty abundance. He looked at his bed, blanket unkempt and rolled to the side. Glancing at his clock, the digital lights showed 5:55. It was later then rev thought.
It was time to sleep, before the next day started. But, he wasn't ready for bed. He had to do something, then nothing more, never again. He took one last drag on that cigarette, went out side, and let go the unfinished cancer stick, it fell down the blanket, its red ember lighting up in the wind. It dropped the concrete below with a small red flash as it hit the ground. He looked into the predawn twilight that he often misted, and saw things in a pale light. He saw birds singing there songs. Trees he had never seen before in light. The sun wasn't up yet, but it was more then he had ever seen before. As it neared the horizon, he saw the sky in a pink tone. It was wonderful, seeing all that he had missed. The waters that were once only colored by the city lights now in natural color. He smiled. And, then the sun started to rise. It was like an golden coin pulling its self up over the water. He smiled even great then before. And, one last tear fell from his eye. This time not of regret, but of awe. “This is beauty” he thought, the sky lighting the clouds pink and purple. The water in full color. It was better then he his mind could ever grasp. Seeing everything in sunlight was amazing. All the people that took this for granted. Just a part of everyday life. He envied them. For they could see this tomorrow. And the day after. And for all of there lives. This how ever, would be the last thing he saw. For, as soon as the sunlight hit Revs skin, he died. He didn't even let off a blink, his eyes knew not to miss one second of this.
