Goodbye My Friend

Promises are broken
Friendships go bad
Hateful words are spoken
and the ending turns out bad

Remember when we could talk all night
but never run out of words to say
Remember that time we got in a fight
Over which sport we were going to play

What happened to that carefree friend
The one that would never let me go
I knew she always had a hand to len
So I lived fast instead of slow

It seems that we have dropped all ties
On this friendship that once was strong
I talk to you in a code of lies
So you won't know what I'm doing wrong

I'm not saying that I'll forget you
You know I'm with you until the end
I just have some things I need to do
I have to break the rules that you won't bend

So for now my friend, this is goodbye
I'll be back when the time is right
