You Broke Your Promises

You said you would ride wit' me if I got sentenced to some time,
but you turnt around and lied to me when I was accused for this crime...
What happened to your promises when you said, "I was the only one?"
you said "you'll always be in my life" but you told everyone we were done...
When I first went to prison my friends said you talked shit behind my back,
but it was hard for me to listen because your broken promises kept me on track...
I was a fool for believing your lies because now I see everything about you was fake,
you was fuckin' wit' other guys when I was doin time behind these gates...
You continued to send me letters promising the love you had for me was real,
telling me things would get much better ending it with fake kisses that were sealed..
But as the days were passing bye your promises kept on getting worst,
telling me a simple lie, making me wanna cry because the shit hurts...
You said our future was in my hands but you turned around and threw it away,
now do you understand why I use to say "you would'nt stay?"...
The promises that you made you broke 'em all because you lied,
now I'm sitting here trying to figure out why the love I gave you was denied...
