If you've ever been stuck at work late at night...
Fast Enough

It's as black as it can be tonight
And my heart is black from missing you
And though the clock ticks timely still
The moon still seems to bleed out blue

I'm impatient for my turn to leave
And I sigh as others go
For the lightning enjoys your eyes tonight
And I'm last to leave again, I know

The minutes pass as if years went by
And I wonder where you wait
And I pray father sleep didn't take you yet
But left an hour for my sake

I hear the thunder rolling in
As I turn up the tender radio
That song you love so much starts as
These tires meet the waiting road

These shadows play upon my eyes
As these lights play upon my dreams
Your lips, your eyes, your smile still
Are all I see, it seems.

And though my foot is heavy, dear
I care not if the ride is smooth or rough
That country song has me in tears
I can't seem to get home fast enough
