Getting so close... Yet never getting there at all
Wandering aimlessly,
I had no dreams, no visions;
No cause to live.
On the verge of death,
I suddenly saw you,
Out of the corner of my eye.
The moment I set my eyes on you,
The breath of Life was re-given to me;
I was snatched back from the claws of death,
To be given a second chance,
All because of you.
You gave me hope to continue living;
Your exquisite beauty made me gaga,
Your voluptuous figure made me want to run my hands along your curves,
Your tempting fragrance drew me nearer.
You looked so innocent, just sitting there.
I crept closer to you,
Afraid of the unknown, yet passion daring me at the same time.
Closer and closer I came, till I was within arm’s reach.
I stretched out my hand,
Desperate to touch you, to feel you.
When the jaws of Love shut close upon me,
Killing me
I could think of nothing else but you.

I lie here,
A mouse within reach of his precious cheese,
Dying in a mouse trap, twitching.
