Blind Eyes

To be invisible to the open eye,
The naked eye, the closed eye,
To be immune from pain, loneliness,
Depression, anger, anxiety, and death...

The blind eye sees me, though,
Crying, afraid, alone, and angry
In the darkness of life's sunny shadows
Amidst crowds of shining faces.

Forever is a very long time to wait
For decisions of Heaven and Hell
To be made concerning my peculiar self
And my accomplished sins with goodness.
