Sometimes I just sit her and wonder...
Staring out the window,
Listening to the rain pounding on the roof.
I think about what used to be...
Me and you, you and me...
But that was a long time ago,
Or so it seems.
I know it's time to get on with my life,
But it seems so difficult.
I see couples wherever I go,
Holding hands, kissing,
Making life-long promises.
I remember when you and I were happy,
In that oh-so distant time.
But things went downhill
And I just couldn't deal anymore,
So I let you go.
I thought I was going to die
From the pain that was breaking my heart,
Slowly tearing me apart,
Piece by piece.
But I'm doing better lately,
Even though I still wonder about you,
And if you'll ever find someone
Who can make you truly happy.
I hope you do...
I wonder if I'll ever find
That special someone...
And if I do,
There will always be a special place in my heart
For you.
