The first poem I ever wrote
Antipathy

I sit to the side of the hallway
Millions of feet travel past
Different shoes, different laces
Same shoes, same laces
Different people, same people
The blur of foot traffic trudges on

I lay to the side of the highway
Cars whoosh by one after another
Red Car, Blue Car, Green Car
Green Car, Red Van, Blue Truck
Blue Jeep, Green Car, Red Motorbike
Colors blend into a rainbow

I float in the open water
Boats go past me hour, after hour
The ripple of a jet-ski
The waves of a speed boat
The splashing of a paddle boat
The never ending movements toss me to and fro

I sit
I lay
I float
My existence is denied
Good men look away, I am ignored
Will no one honor the dead?
