How Amy found her love
Chapter 1

Secret Love

Amy was secretly in love with James. She was in same church as him. She wanted to approach him but his cold appearance made her feel reclined to do that. His face was distinctive. He was quite tall and was wearing a pair of spectacles that made him feel that like a scholar. He was handsome but quiet. Amy rarely saw him spoke, or you can say she rarely talked to him. The only reason she was fearful he might reject her.
That Sunday Army didn’t really concentrate what the pastor was saying. The scenes of how James sang during worship kept on swirling in her mind. After service, she grabbed the opportunity as quickly as possible, look for James to talk to him.
“Er..Hi, James, how are you? Long time never see you in church.”
“Gee, you are the one who have not often come to church, that’s why you never see me.”
Amy’s face reddened. “Er..so how’s work and family?” Amy quickly changed the topic.
“I am fine. My whole family also fine.” After that sentence, both of them left with silence. Amy was really trying to dig something out of her mind so that she could continue to have conversation with James. “I am sorry, I need to be away for a few minutes. I have to speak with a friend.” Amy stood like a straight pillar, seeing James walking further and further away from her.

Amy was a quiet woman. Not much friends she had. She was quite inferior due to her outlook and appearance. She had two small eyes, and had freckles on her face. She was already 24 years old. She always wanted to have a boyfriend. She envied of those girls who already had boyfriends. She spoke of her concern to her ex-classmate. They were quite close at that time, often praying together. So Serena who was her ex-classmate told her that she would be praying for her. Many of her friends also asked her to pray for a boyfriend to come.
Amy continued to grow bitter when she found out James already had girlfriend in a karaoke gathering. She nearly sang her lungs out and cried before the gang.
She cried to God, “Why am I not his girlfriend? Why did not he like me? I want to tell him how I feel, but I can’t do that now. I know I am not that pretty…” She wept her tears till she smoothen to sleep…

Then Amy didn’t see James in church anymore. But some church mates did share with her James and his family met financial crisis. Amy wanted to visit him and his family, but she didn’t dare to. And she also did not has much money to help him either. She would pray for him and his family now and then.
After a period of time, James came back to church. He looked much older and sluggard. She knew from his sharing with the group that he had broken off with his girlfriend. She was not sure whether she should be happy or upset about it. James still had to manage his debts that brought down by his family members and his stress of his job. All Amy could say was to pray for him. It was not a right time to say she did like him. And furthermore he may not like Amy because her appearance. So Amy decided to keep quiet and submit to God.
