Feelings from the heart
So much time we would have had, if I had just let you be a dad.

So many years passed day by day, To much alcohol clouded your way.

Then one day I received the call, The flight took place, your health did fall.

Yelling for me, this you did do, I hurried as fast as I could to be there with you.

I rushed around like a frantic nut, Made it to the hospital sick feeling in my gut.

You looked so good, barely sick at all. Then they let you go home, our backs to the wall.

Then home we went stopping along the way, For medicine and equipment you could use everyday.

You asked me to do one small simple thing, Take you home with me to the mountains and fields so green.

No more snow that is what you said, this wish came true for you, guess you was blessed.

Here we are Alabama the beautiful, Mountains and foothills, rivers and lakes, Life so full.

I was honored to have the time with you, Good times and bad and all we went through.

We went to the hospital and there we did stay, It felt like years until one day.

They sent you home nothing more to be done, I was so frustrated emotions coming undone.

The days flew by to quickly to bear, one at a time, From deer hunting to sightseeing it is hard to believe that you wasnt fine.

You quoted those scriptures each and every day, Unknown to us this would help ease the way.

When the morning came, you took your last breath, What was I to do feel, say. My emotions buried not showing the pain.

No more suffering, and no more pain. A golden guitar the kids say you'll play.

I tried to be strong, like a rock for the family, but inside I am suffering, Will the pain ease and go away?

I am tore up inside, so full of hurt and pain, What can I do to get through the day.

Quoting scriptures was your routine, It gave us all strength to cope and believe.

The funeral was perfect, I cant believe you are gone. I miss you so much But I am glad you went home.

So many people in and out of there, Weeping with sadness, eyes full of tears.

The days run together, Equipment is gone Once again I am glad you peacefully went home.

One thing gives me peace, GOD was with you til the end. You never lost your faith Refusing to bend.

You said like George Jefferson, you were moving on up! A mansion you now have in heaven REST IN PEACE, WITH LOVE
