This was written before "Drunken, Random Thoughts"
The phrase "I Love You" has been around for as long as we can remember. It used to mean just that "I Love You" and it was directed to the one person you wanted to be with for the rest of your life. Now these days, it's just thrown around carelessly, in hopes that it would have the same meaning, that it would catch your attention as it would in a movie. When asked how much they love some one they use the following universal answers: "More than you'll ever know.", " More than you love me.", or the famous "I can't find the words to describe how much I Love you." And people actually except that, even I did at one point or another. In light of my resent relationship, I've discovered that my boyfriend was not only telling me that he loves me but his ex-wife as well. Now before i found this out, i thought that when he said that he loved me it was because i was the only one he loved. How foolish of me, huh? I found that I was hurt, upset, cried, then the emotion of anger came over me. I took a deep breath, thought about the situation and picked up the phone to call and see just what he had to say about this. I asked him "What do you mean when you tell Me and your Ex-wife "I love you"? To my dismay I didn't get the answer I was looking for. I was sitting in bed tossing around the emotions and unresolved issue and then it hit me, "What are people saying when they tell someone that they love them?" "What do I say when I tell someone that I love them?" I realized, how could I be upset and hypocritical of him for not having the answer, when I didn't have it either. It's not that we don't have an answer. We don't take the time to think about the question and find the answer. We fear that if we take the time to think about all the reasons why we love that person dearly and tell them, that One: They don't feel the same way and you're rejected or Two: You realize that you really don't love them the way you thought you had and the truth is out, then it's over. As human beings all of us are just a little bit vain when comes to details about why someone loves us. So before you or I feel that we're gonna say "I Love You" to someone, think about what you're really going to say to that person and what it means to you. Take the time to find the words to describe how you feel about that person because it will make all the difference in the world to that person and yourself. Here's an example what i'm saying when I tell someone I Love You:

I love your smile and the sound of your laughter.

I love your dorky jokes, and goofy expressions.

I love when you pick me wild flowers from the side of the road & make me the romantic dinners of spagetti-o's.

I love you for everything you are and everything your not.

I love you for everything you can be and what you can't be.

The strength in the decisions you make & how you stress the importance of them.

I love how you pick me up at my weakest point and let me know how important I am to you.

And I love you even more for loving me the way you do and excepting me for who I am.
