Religous but Lost

You try to go to church each, and every Sunday
putting up a front, and cursing folks out on Monday.
Grabbing your bibles along with your daily bread
Attempting to feed your soul, but your ego ate instead.

Appearing to be a Christian from the outside
Fooling people, but to yourself you have lied.
In a loud voice "father forgive me"you've cried;
But have you taken up your cross, and your flesh you denied?

Have you sat down, and counted up the cost
Examined yourself to see if you are religious or lost?
Do you sit back sanctimoniously, and criticize someone else life
When all the time it's you that need the blood of Jesus to remove the strife.

It’s easier to find the mote in some one else eye
but it's your problems you’re trying to disguise,and deny.
This is just a sample, or a mere surface view
Of some of the things that church folks do.

So I advise you my friend to sit down, and count up the cost,
Because you might be religious, then you might be lost!
