I wrote this a year after my ex and I broke up. Read and find out why.
When I close my eyes
All I see is pain
I'm tired of all the lies
Tears fall like rain
I really don't understand
Why she's so much better
Drowning in your quicksand
Take you, I just let her
Can't believe I was so dumb
To think you wanted me
As your every only one
For all of eternity
I don't understand why
You gave me that ring
Looking at it makes me cry
Knowing it doesn't mean a thing
We are nevermore
For you were unfaithful
And left me for the whore
But for this I am grateful
I was shown a love
I've never felt before
So much higher above
Than that dirty little whore
At first I was shocked
That you would ever leave me
Because I thought our love was locked
But then you deceived me
Then I was angry
And full of ire
That you would set me free
And set my heart on fire
But for a long time
I had bled inside
For you weren't mine
My heart had to hide
Ever since then
It's been in a guilded cage
Nobody gets in
No matter how much I'm engaged
The pain keeps building
And trust fades away
The pain is unyielding
Each and everyday
And the more I try
To move on and live
The more I die
And not want to give
You were the one
Who gave me reason
And kept ablazing my sun
But then there's your treason
I am no longer incarcerated
In your web of deception
Since we've been separated
I have a new perception
I never let anyone get too close
Since my heart is as cold as stone
My blood slowly flows
And I'm bitter to the bone
It's no longer you I miss
But the warmth and amenity
Of a happy couple's bliss
And the peaceful serenity
