The saddest thing

The saddest thing I can envision,
Is an old and withered man.

Whose entire life revolved,
Around what’s in his hand.

As the end is nearing,
And there is nothing left to hold.

It finally dawns upon him,
That the answer is so old.

True happiness could not be found,
In the places he has been.

True happiness will only ever,
Be found from within..
