The Promise

You promise to care for me,
And I promise to do the same.
You said you never broke a promise,
And you won’t start now.

You promise to care for me,
And that you will always be there for me.
And I told you I’d do the same.

Now you have broken your promise,
And you no longer care for me.
You said you would always be there for me,
And now you are not.

You promise to love me always,
And I promise to do the same.
Now you don’t love me anymore,
