Why do we lose our imagination when we grow up?
Remember being younger,
We stared up through the light,
Found my castle in the clouds,
As the summer sun shined bright.

And my castle in the clouds,
We'd point out every day,
Waiting patiently for rain,
So a rainbow paved the way
When we were innocent-
when we were kids
and we didn’t understand it.

Do you remember when
a few years later we grew up?
We never saw it coming
My castle in the clouds blew up.
Innocence lost so early,
So many things seen prematurely
The day faded into night.

Sometimes I look up at the sky
On bright summer days
Just trying to find my castle
Guess I lost it through the haze,
Because its gone,
And I have to wonder where
But when I see a child watching
I think I catch a glimpse up there.

Now when I look up I cry,
And search the endless summer sky.
