Everlasting Love



As I look through the doorway,

I see your mussed up bed.

Where only hours before,

You lay your precious head.



As I stand in the open doorway,

I remember times gone by.

Wondering was it truly right,

Was it time to say goodbye?



You spread silky wings today,

Took flight from all you knew.

I know you are happy there,

But why couldn’t I come too?



God needed another angel,

I know he called the best.

But how do I bear the pain,

Until I too, come home to rest?



All the hours we spent together,

Were really so very few.

Why did you have to go,
