I was sure she wanted to kill me. Her strength was far greater than mine.
We were out for our daily stroll. The mountains surrounding our valley had fresh
rain sparkling on the firs. The air was filled with the scent of damp earth.
Without warning, she stopped with her nose in the air. She sniffed deeply.
I too, took a deep calming breath . This was my favorite time of day.
Suddenly, without warning, I found myself face down in a pile of rock and
cement. I was still holding her as she took off to greet two friends. All my cries
to stop went unanswered as she happily bounded to meet them . As I lay
there bleeding , she suddenly realized something was holding her back. Slowly
she returned to where I lay and gently gave me a kiss.
Of course she hadn't meant to hurt me. She just wanted to say Hi to old
buddies, and forgot to behave like a lady .
