I wrote this shortly after my grandma died, in one of the roughest times of my life.
You don't know how much you mean to me
I don't think you'll ever know
You saved my life
I don't think you'll ever see
I'm afraid if you were mine
You'd soon let me go
When I put the knife to my wrists or gun up to my head
I see your face and soft eyes
Then I am forced to put down my weapon of choice
It's your voice that stops me from turning my world black
Though you are no longer here
You remain at my side
