Your elders don't always know every thing
Who am I? I am Julia I am me, I, self, being I am a woman, an adult I am not a place to hang your sorrows I am not a child I am not a person to live your life through

You assume I know nothing because I am young. You assume I belive I know everything because I am young. You assume because I am young I cannot make wise decisions because ultimately I know nothing about life because of my age.

Who am I? I am an artist, a writer. I am intellectual and emotinal. I live life, not fantasy. I am not a brat. I am not dumb. I am not a ragamuffin. I am not here to be used.

You say that I should listen to you because you're wiser, older, lived through many things, that you know more. You act as though because I have not lived your life, it would better if you lived mine for me. You don't hear me when I tell you that I never once said I knew everyting, but I do know something.

Who am I? I am strong and independent. I am wise beyond my years. I am fun. I am serious. I am not here for you to control. I am not a puppet.

You apply your life to mine, assuming your bad misteks will be the ones I make. You see only your life, only the things you wish you chould change. You are so stuck in yourself that you cannot see me, hear me, feel me.

Who am I? I am caring, loving. I am beautiful and sexy. I am quirky. I am not a teenage mother. I am not a user. I am not manipulative.

It hurts that I try so hard and still it goes unnoticed. You do not see what I have done, only what I haven't or did not do correctly.

Who am I? I am depresed, I am happy. I am willing. I am adventurous. I am not you, him, her. I am not all those people that have hurt you.

All I hear is do this, do that, brat. How is it that I have done so much, yet still have more to do? My life has fallen down around me and never once have I asked for your pity. Never once have I called your name, yet some how you believe that is what I want, that I have to create drama to fulfill my life.

Who am I? I am a poet. I am a troubled soul. I am a past, a present, and a future. I am not looking for rage. I am not searching for someone to tell me how to live. I am not a handicap.

You think that because you have made bad decisions and you have had people treat you badly, the same will happen to me. You try to protect me by telling me what to do and what's been good for you. But I am not you, I am not your life. I am not a mother, I have not faced your troubles, but have faced my own.

Who am I? I am a lover. I am a friend. I am a good pure soul. I am not ignornat. I am not in denial. I am not a way out for peoples shitty lives.

Haven't you ever heard that one solution to a problem doesn't work for every single person? Give me adivce, but know that I may not follow it. Do not tell me what needs to be done, becaue I know. Do not hound me, because I will resent it. I may be young, but I do know what works for me, what needs to be done. I know. Your complete and utter disregard for me and what I know, what I have done, is killing me. I am dying inside. You treat me like in 23 years I haven't learned anything, that I can't figure out what needs to be done to get my life back on track. Only you know. And it's killing me. It's chipping away at my heart. I can't do it any longer.

Who am I? I am Julia, me, self, I, being. I am a woman, an adult. I am an artist, a writer. I am intellectual and emotinal. I live life, not fantasy. I am strong and independent. I am wise. I am fun. I am serious. I am caring and loving. I am beautiful and sexy. I am quirky. I am depressed. I am happy. I am willing. I am adventurous. I am a poet. I am a troubled soul. I am a past, a present, and a future. I am a friend. I am a good, pure soul.

I am not you or what you want me to be or what you need from me! I am ME!
