I Climbed UP

I climbed up
And I fell down;
I climbed up,
And I fell down
I did not get up
I stayed down.

I climbed up
And I got to one level,
And I continued upward
And I fell to the bottom.

I climbed up
And I fell down
Then I climbed up again
This time I held on.

I climbed up
And almost fell,
But I held on tight
I made it two levels up.

I climbed up
A little higher and a little surer--
I did not fall this time

I climbed up
All the way to the top,
And then I looked down
To see where I was coming from.
