Sleep at Last

Oh peaceful sleep how you eluded the night
Eyes closing as the sun shone bright
High over the trees where dreams should have been
Eyes stagger as the day begins
Needing to join the work force ahead
While the mind and spirit stayed in bed
Under the covers snuggled in tight
Wishing the sun soon turns to night
