a very short story by my five year old daughter Aasiya
This story was narrated to me by my five year old daughter Aasiya:

"One day, there was a king and a queen. They had a sweet little daughter. Her

name was Dinky. One day, they went for a walk in the forest. Suddenly a very big

tiger came along. He ate up the king and the queen but did not see Dinky. While

he was feeling happy and dancing around, Dinky hid in the bushes."

At this point I asked Aasiya if Dinky was feeling sad because the

tiger had eaten her parents?

Aasiya gave this reply:

"She was sad but she wasn't crying for she knew she wasn't alone. She had a

grandmother and a grandfather to look after her. They came along in a car and

took her with them."

(I think this tells us how important grandparents are in a child's life and how adaptive children are to any kind of change:)
