This is a poem I wrote when I was 13, but it doesn't seem outdated.
It's a treasure that you're to forever behold
    And it is more precious than diamonds or gold
Forever and always it stays with you
    It's lovely scent has special value
A symbol of love, a gesture so sweet
    Joy fills your heart more with every beat
It's a little bud that opens and grows
    Until it becomes...One Single Rose
