Close My Heart

I stopped breathing yet again,
And my life is flying by,
Too fast for me to comprehend.

Ive lost my ability to cry,
For all the tears in the past few years,
Have simply washed me dry.

My friends never knew the pain,
They only knew the smiles I wore,
And the reasons I loved the rain.

The doctors say I must be fine,
So they give me some pain killers,
To kill the time.

The only one who ever knew,
And the one I pushed away,
Is finally done and through.

The sun is out, the dark has claimed,
This air that once obtained my name,
Its lost the sense of where to start,
So I take one last breath and close my heart.
