after all, when is anything in life ever linear? (aluminum)

LINEAR

my hands smell like dust and this fingernail i'm chewing on tastes like decay. i guess i'm a hundred if i'm a day and suddenly-- i'm crumbling away. the ashes of my shattered soul flutter down to the hardwood floor. there they lay, scattered & sporadic. i weep at the loss of a body, so systematic, to a chaos out of place in this altruistically orderly world where electronic dayplanners and cell phones have erased the need for any good sense of time & space. so i gather the dust in a porcelain bowl, rationalizing the centerfold. after all, when is anything in life ever linear?
