Lord soothe retain my sanity

The system jammed, so I submit to powers be, that plan the best,
I give way let the river sweep, over my hot, tight wearied soul,
Regrouping time, time to re-charge, will today’s errands offer this?
Spent, drained, yet respite visits soon as is the normal pattern.

My peace though shallow, I panic not as “smoldering wicks won’t be snuffed out”
Curious as to what will be my recharge, I can count on it-my doubts are waiting,
For the chance for me to entertain them, they are not welcome, they have no key,
This door allows them not-there attempts are met as if against a one-way street-smiles.

Venturing to areas once strained, I temper panic at the door, I laugh to self,
As once this would not tickle, yet admire the fortitude given me by the Lord,
I’ll once again retire in prayer and let the Holy Spirit take my load for me,
Again, it’s instant! I begin to feel, inflated, fully stuffed with hope again.

If it is peace and energy desire you, I beg you try to lean upon the Lord,
If pressures, stress, and tension are invading, call upon him he’ll be soon to heal,
I beg you realize that his love, his patience, can dutifully serve your every need,
The gifts are measurable yet, unmeasured, as they can’t be counted, just by him.

If he reveals to you a spot of sunlight, inside your weary brain and tired hands,
Grasp to it as there’s more than just one ray, of hope to guide you long your tiresome way,
Trust he will be there for you for forever, and longer though you can’t imagine so,
Peace, patience, semblance, groundedness await you, as soon as call upon the Lord’s your deed.
