lyrics i wrote about important lessons my father taught me |
I ran all the way home the day i skun my knee. ran as fast as i could so the other kids wouldn't see. saw daddy standing out there in the yard, blood running down my knee he knew i fell hard. i still remember the look in his eyes when he saw me standing there about ready to cry.and he said don't worry little girl it's gonna be alright hold back those tears even if it takes all your might, there's angels watching over you up in the big blue sky, and always remember that tough girls don't cry. When I got older there were so many things I wanted to see. As much as it hurt I knew this town was too small for me. Thinking of all the one's that I had left behind, He could always tell when i had a worried mind, but he said Don't worry little girl it's gonna be alright hold back all those tears even if it takes all your might, it's a cold cruel world out there but give it a try, and always remember that tough girls don't cry. I went home the day my daddy got ill. rain coming down so hard against that window sill. never thought that I would see this day. But when it was his time to go i knew just what to say Don't worry daddy it's gonna be alright i'm holding back the tears and it's taken all my might, and i know you'll be my angel in the sky. and i will never forget that this isn't goodbye but i'm letting the tears run from my eyes even though tough girls don't cry. I wiped the tears from my eyes cause you know tough girls don't cry. |
