I Had A Love I had a love, An elegant and oh so splendid love. Her, and me we fit like a glove, Together we flew, swift like a dove. I loved her, she loved me, We were both as one, and totally free. Our meeting I treated as destiny, Our love was strong, for all to see. Something changed, I don’t know what, Pulled my love from her sacred spot. Jolted her from her holy slot, Her departure hit me as though I’d been shot. No reason I ever found, For her exit without even a sound. Even though I searched round and round. So in my tears, I slowly drowned. It is still to this day, I repeat the question, why didn’t she stay? As I stare at the ceiling from where I lay, Lost track of months, July? June? May? Never again will I find my peace, Withdrawing into my solitary crease. Flies swarm my lost body, ready to feast, And as I disappeared, my soul forever did cease. The single knowledge that lingers eternal. I had a love, An elegant and oh so splendid love. Her, and me we fit like a glove, Together we flew, swift like a dove. I had a love. |
