the night before
run over lines
last minute check
nervous wreck
i think not
you've prepared too long to
let this one slide
determination in your eyes
you bring
your hands together
you wring

and step out for act two

they respect you
applaud you
for the energy you show
and how your lines flowed
how you remembered them
only God knows
but in the struggle of life
