A poem dedicated to my father and the "stories" he has to deal with.
Daddy I know the sauce has been dry
But in their eyes, that story don’t fly
Daddy I don’t understand
I don’t know that I ever can -
She said you’ve been smoking
I thought she was joking
Then he said to stop your drinking
And that got me to thinking
Let’s just all go to rehab
And make it one big show
Maybe when Mamma can breathe
They’ll let families in for free
Let’s all go to rehab
Come on, come on let’s go
I’ll take a bottle of rum
I think it will be a lot of fun
Daddy it isn’t fair
Let’s give him a virgin full of hair
Let’s go out to rehab
Maybe then she’ll leave us alone
